Tubas:Israeli occupiers have given 47 Palestinian families in the northern occupied West Bank until Sunday evening to vacate their homes following a 27-day blockade.
According to Anadolu Agency, Hassan Mleihat, head of the Palestinian rights group Al-Baydar, expressed concerns over the uncertain future faced by these families due to the prolonged road closures that have isolated the Ras al-Ahmar community, located southeast of Tubas.
Mleihat emphasized that the ultimatum has increased fears among residents regarding their ability to remain on their land and sustain their livelihoods. He urged rights groups, humanitarian organizations, and international bodies to urgently intervene to protect the residents and their property and to end the blockade.
The Israeli army had closed the last remaining route connecting Ras al-Ahmar with surrounding areas in September, after other dirt roads leading to the community were previously blocked.
Resident Thaer Bisharat reported that restrictions have intensified over the past three years, culminating in Israeli forces digging a trench across the community's last remaining access route, effectively encircling the area with trenches, walls, and military zones.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reports that since October 2023, Israeli occupiers have conducted over 14,742 attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of 66 Palestinians.
