Taiz:Yemen The Yemeni army reported that it executed 744 precision attacks against the Houthi group within a 24-hour period, resulting in the ‘neutralization’ of approximately 200 Houthi members.
According to Anadolu Agency, the army’s statement detailed that these operations were part of ‘Operation Yemen Dawn,’ involving the use of warplanes, drones, field artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and sniper units. The targets included field command and control centers, firing positions, fortified sites, reserve assembly areas, and Houthi reinforcements and supply assets.
In Taiz, a southwestern province, the army has intensified military pressure to repel Houthi fighters. The operations on the eastern, southern, and western fronts were synchronized to limit the movement of Houthi reserves and prevent territorial gains by the group.
The army claimed that these operations not only ‘neutralized around 200’ Houthi members but also destroyed or damaged 90 vehicles and other military assets. The term ‘neutralized’ refers to combatants being rendered ineffective, including through death or injury.
The escalation in hostilities occurs amidst ongoing conflict in Yemen, which began in 2014 when the Houthis took control of the capital, Sanaa, and large parts of the north. There has been no comment from the Houthi group regarding these recent developments.
