Paris:A major technical incident has affected the mobile network of French telecommunications operator Orange, disrupting calls, text messages, and other mobile services since late Wednesday morning.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Orange has stated that the disruption is impacting a significant portion of its residential and business customers, although emergency calls remain unaffected. In response to the disruption, the company has mobilized its technical teams to restore services swiftly.

Nearly 12,000 reports of the outage were recorded on Downdetector, an outage-tracking website, during the peak of the incident, as reported by French broadcaster BFMTV. Orange is currently not considering a cyberattack as the cause of the disruption, focusing instead on a technical issue as the likely source.
