Rome:London The UK Maritime Trade Operations Center (UKMTO) has issued a warning concerning potential piracy activity following reports of suspicious boats in the Gulf of Aden.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the warning was disseminated on Wednesday via the US social media platform X. The UKMTO highlighted reports from various sources indicating "suspicious activity" that could suggest the presence of a Pirate Action Group.

The agency reported that several small boats exhibiting suspicious behavior have been observed near merchant vessels. Among these, a green-and-blue boat carrying nine individuals and equipped with two ladders and a hook was noted. Authorities are currently investigating the situation, and transiting ships have been advised to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities. No further details have been provided at this time.
