Israeli Forces Conduct Airstrikes and Demolitions Across Southern Lebanon

Beirut:Israeli forces launched a series of airstrikes and carried out demolitions across southern Lebanon, targeting various districts, as reported by Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA).

According to Anadolu Agency – English, despite a US-brokered framework agreement signed in June between Lebanon and Israel to address security disputes, the Israeli military operations targeted areas including Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun, and Tyre.

In the Nabatieh district, Israeli warplanes struck between Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Tebnit, also executing a large demolition in Kfar Tebnit. In Maifadoun, a drone exploded at an inhabited home, though no injuries were reported.

Operations in the Bint Jbeil district included airstrikes and demolitions on the outskirts of Baraachit, with a Merkava tank firing at Srebbine. Another blast was reported in Wadi al-Ghadir.

In Marjayoun, demolition activities were noted in Tallousa, accompanied by machine-gun fire from Khiam towards farmland in Ibl al-Saqi. Airstrikes were also conducted between Adshit al-Qusayr and Taybeh.

In the Tyre district, a mosque in al-Amiriyah was targeted near a Lebanese army checkpoint, with additional strikes in Mansouri preceding artillery fire. Israeli drones were observed flying low over Tyre and the Qasmiyeh area.

These events follow recent US-sponsored talks in Tampa, Florida, aimed at resolving ongoing disputes, which ended without a breakthrough. The framework agreement calls for Israeli withdrawal in exchange for Lebanese army deployment and the disarmament of armed groups, yet military operations persist. Since March 2, violence has resulted in at least 4,386 deaths, over 12,407 injuries, and displaced more than 1 million people, as per the Lebanese Health Ministry.
