Air Defenses Activated in Central Tehran Amid Rising Tensions with Israel

Tehran: Air defense systems were activated in central Tehran on Friday in response to suspected Israeli strikes, according to Iranian media. Despite the alert, the city has remained mostly calm since Friday morning, media reports added.

According to Anadolu Agency, hostilities between the two nations erupted last Friday when Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities. This prompted Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes against Israel. Israeli authorities reported that at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured as a result of Iranian missile attacks.

In contrast, Iranian media reports indicate that 639 people have been killed and more than 1,300 wounded due to the ongoing Israeli assault. The situation remains tense as both nations continue to exchange hostilities, raising concerns about further escalation in the region.
