Beijing: China on Tuesday expressed opposition to the US banning the import or sale of foreign-made drones. A new rule implemented by the US Federal Communications Commission prohibits uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and critical UAS components produced in foreign countries. This decision is based on the belief that these drones pose "unacceptable risks to the national security of the United States and to the safety and security of U.S. persons," as stated in an official announcement.

According to Anadolu Agency, China's DJI, recognized as the world's largest consumer drone manufacturer, is directly impacted by this ban. In response, a spokesperson from China's Commerce Ministry emphasized Beijing's call for Washington to revoke the measure. The spokesperson warned that if the US persists in taking "unilateral" actions, China will "resolutely take necessary measures to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises."
