Odesa: A Russian drone strike on Ukraine's Odesa region injured 14 people and killed two, Ukrainian authorities said Saturday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa regional military administration, reported that six individuals remain hospitalized, with three in serious condition. The others are receiving outpatient care, as shared on his Telegram account.

Ukraine's Air Force indicated that 22 drones were deployed in the attack, with air defense units successfully shooting down 21 of them, while one was neutralized by electronic warfare systems. The Odesa region was specifically targeted during the strike.

In a statement, the State Emergency Service mentioned that a 21-story residential building in Odesa was hit, leading to a fire on three of its upper floors and trapping residents in their apartments.

The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, confirmed on social media that emergency crews discovered the bodies of a couple killed in the strike and extended condolences to their family and loved ones.

Odesa, a significant Black Sea port city, has frequently been the focus of attacks throughout the conflict, with a notable increase in the use of drones in recent months.
