Iran: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump "apparently understands the language of force better," following Trump's threats of further military action against Tehran.
According to Anadolu Agency, Trump's comments, which ranged from "insulting the Iranian nation to threatening further attacks," were described by Gharibabadi as "not a sign of strength, but an admission of the failure of a policy that for years has been built on force, sanctions, and threats." He emphasized that this strategy "failed to bring the Iranian nation to its knees."
Gharibabadi further noted that in dealing with Trump, "one must speak in his own language," asserting that "apparently, he understands the language of force better."
Trump had earlier indicated that the US would "probably" strike Iran again on Wednesday night, following overnight US retaliatory strikes on Iranian targets in response to attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. He remarked, "We hit them very hard last night, very, very. Probably hit them hard again tonight. I'll give him a little warning. We're going to hit him hard tonight," while speaking at the NATO summit held in Ankara, Turkey.
Trump expressed his frustration, stating, "I don't want to deal with them anymore. They're scum," and mentioned that the memorandum of understanding signed with Iran last month to end the conflict was "over."
