Tehran: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Thursday that it had carried out a missile strike targeting the US command-and-control center in West Asia, as well as the Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan. The IRGC stated that their Aerospace Force launched a total of 10 ballistic missiles aimed at these two key sites, claiming that the attack resulted in the "destruction" of both facilities.
According to Anadolu Agency, the IRGC issued a stern warning following the missile strike, declaring that any further "aggression" by the US military would lead to additional attacks on US bases in the region. The statement emphasized that these bases would not be "spared from our heavy fire" if hostilities continued.
In response to the missile strike, Jordanian officials reported that their air defense systems successfully intercepted and downed eight of the missiles that were launched from Iran toward the kingdom. The incident underscores the heightened tensions in the region and the potential for further military escalations between Iran and US forces stationed in the Middle East.
