Gaza City: At least 50 more Palestinians were killed in relentless Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall death toll since October last year to 43,972, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Tuesday. A ministry statement added that some 104,008 others were injured in the ongoing assault. According to Anadolu Agency, the Health Ministry reported that 'The Israeli occupation has committed three massacres of families in the last 24 hours, resulting in 50 deaths and 110 injuries.' The statement further highlighted that many people remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as rescue teams face challenges in reaching them due to the continuous attacks. The Israeli army's ongoing campaign, described as a genocidal war, is now in its second year. This military operation began following a Hamas attack last year, despite a UN Security Council resolution that called for an immediate cease-fire. The offensive has resulted in almost the entire population of the Gaza Strip being displaced. Compoundin g the humanitarian crisis is an ongoing blockade that has led to severe shortages of essential supplies such as food, clean water, and medicine. Efforts to mediate a cease-fire and prisoner swap agreement, led by the US, Egypt, and Qatar, have so far been unsuccessful. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's refusal to halt the war has been a significant barrier to reaching an agreement. Meanwhile, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice, due to its military actions in Gaza.
