Israeli Attacks in Lebanon Claim 20 Lives in 24 Hours, Total Death Toll Approaches 2,700

Beirut: Israeli attacks killed 20 people in the last 24 hours in Lebanon, taking the country's death toll since March 2 to 2,679, the Health Ministry said Sunday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry stated that 46 people were injured over the past day, bringing the total number of injuries to 8,229 during the same period. The Israeli attacks marked the latest breaches of a temporary ceasefire initiated on April 17.

The Israeli army has increased its air and ground offensives in Lebanon following a cross-border strike by Hezbollah on March 2. This ongoing conflict has led to the displacement of more than 1.6 million people, as reported by official Lebanese figures.

US President Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon on April 17, which he later extended by three weeks until May 17.
