Istanbul: The IGA Istanbul Airport has reached an unprecedented milestone, setting a new record for the highest daily number of flights and passengers in both Trkiye and Europe. On August 16, the airport successfully managed approximately 290,287 passengers across 1,739 flights, as revealed in a recent statement by the Turkish transport and infrastructure minister.
According to Anadolu Agency, Abdulkadir Uraloglu emphasized the growing strategic importance of the airport in the realm of global aviation. He highlighted the airport's ranking among the leading airports worldwide, attributing this success to its capacity, robust infrastructure, and quality services.
Uraloglu further remarked on the airport's achievements, stating that the new record reinforces its strong position as a global hub. The significant increase in passenger and flight numbers underscores the airport's pivotal role in international travel and commerce.
