Amman: The Jordanian army announced on Saturday that it has successfully intercepted and destroyed 242 missiles and drones out of a total of 262 launched towards the kingdom since the onset of the US-Israeli conflict with Iran.

According to Anadolu Agency, a joint statement from the Jordanian army and the Public Security Directorate revealed that 22 missiles were launched from Iran towards Jordan during the recent fourth week of the ongoing conflict. The statement further noted that the air force managed to intercept most of the missiles launched last week, although two missiles evaded interception and landed in the eastern part of the country.

The army emphasized that Jordan has been a direct target of Iranian attacks since the beginning of the war, with a total of 262 missiles and drones targeting critical sites across the kingdom. Out of these, 242 projectiles were successfully intercepted and destroyed, while 20 managed to reach their targets.

The Public Security Directorate reported handling 64 incidents over the past week related to debris and falling objects from missiles and drones. The cumulative number of debris incidents since the war began has reached 478, resulting in 25 injuries. All injured individuals have been discharged from medical care except for the latest case.

Material damage recorded since the start of the conflict includes damage to 25 vehicles, 55 homes and commercial shops, and 14 public properties, as detailed in the joint statement.
