Netanyahu’s Remarks Against Erdogan Reflect Discomfort Over Truths, Says Trkiye

Ankara: The Turkish Foreign Ministry on Saturday criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his remarks targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stating that these comments stem from “the discomfort caused by the truths we have expressed on every platform.”

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry’s statement highlighted Netanyahu’s controversial reputation, noting that he is often referred to as the Adolf Hitler of this era due to his alleged crimes. The statement drew attention to an arrest warrant issued for Netanyahu by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity. It warned of Netanyahu’s attempts to undermine ongoing peace talks and continue his expansionist policies in the region.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry reiterated its commitment to holding Netanyahu accountable for his actions and expressed continued support for innocent civilians. The statement was echoed by members of the presidential Cabinet, who also condemned Netanyahu’s remarks.

Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz stated that ‘the light of truth is the nightmare of the oppressors,’ suggesting that Netanyahu’s comments are a manifestation of his discomfort with the exposure of the truth and a reflection of a ‘sense of guilt,’ deeming them ‘null and void.’

Justice Minister Akin Gurlek remarked that Netanyahu’s words, considering the arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court, ‘demonstrate the depth of the legal and moral impasse’ he faces. Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci accused Netanyahu, described as responsible for attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip, of making ‘baseless’ accusations that signify ‘desperation and political exhaustion.’
