Washington: Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, stated that China is "not behind" the United States in the race for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Huang shared his insights with reporters at a tech conference, emphasizing that while China may currently be "right behind" the US, the gap is minimal. According to Anadolu Agency, Huang highlighted China's progress in AI, particularly praising Huawei for its advancements. He noted that Huawei has shown remarkable progress in computing and network technology, which are essential for AI development. Huang also addressed the importance of the US focusing on AI regulations to accelerate technological advancements. He expressed confidence in Nvidia's ability to manufacture AI products domestically, citing a collaboration with Foxconn in Houston to build AI servers. Nvidia has played a significant role in the global economy, supplying chips for advanced AI applications with substantial investments. Recently, Nvidia announced plans to build AI servers worth up to $500 billion in the US over the next four years in partnership with companies like TSMC. However, Nvidia faces challenges in the US, including tariffs and potential regulations limiting the sale of advanced AI processors to other countries. The company encountered setbacks when the Trump administration restricted shipments of Nvidia's H20 processors to China without a license, leading to a projected $5.5 billion revenue loss.
