Putin Asserts Ukraine and Western Allies Gained No Advantage Against Russia

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin declared on Saturday that Ukraine and its Western allies have not achieved any significant advantage against Russia and are unlikely to do so in the future. Speaking during an interview with Vesti, Putin accused Kyiv of opening a 'Pandora's box' by initiating attacks on civilian targets, which he claimed provoked a response from Russia.

According to Anadolu Agency, Putin described the attempts by Kyiv and its Western supporters to defeat Russia within a short timeframe as merely 'another adventure.' He accused Ukraine and Western nations of harboring long-standing ambitions to destabilize Russia, asserting that these intentions have been openly discussed by them.

Putin acknowledged that Ukrainian attacks had inflicted economic damage and caused casualties in Russia but maintained that these actions had not altered the situation on the battlefield. In retaliation, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukrainian defense-industry facilities, including those in Kyiv, in response to strikes on Russian logistics centers.

"We have begun to respond to the enemy's actions against our civilian industrial facilities and logistics," Putin stated. He criticized the Kyiv regime for aiming to harm Russia's economy, claiming they were responsible for unleashing the current conflict.

Putin emphasized that Russia's military response to Kyiv's logistics attacks was more precise and impactful, suggesting that Ukraine's economy, particularly its agricultural sector, is nearing collapse. He also accused Kyiv of attempting to disrupt Russian elections through their attacks, asserting that Moscow would bolster state institutions and safeguard the government's legitimacy.

Expressing confidence that these efforts to influence Russian society were destined to fail, Putin reiterated Moscow's willingness to engage in dialogue with Ukraine but only based on the current situation on the ground. He mentioned having received 'exotic' proposals for talks on Ukraine but deemed them unacceptable.

Furthermore, Putin dismissed concerns that Russian strikes on Ukrainian ports and agricultural infrastructure could lead to global food shortages. He assured that Russia possessed sufficient export potential to ensure there would be no shortage in global markets.
