Ankara: The capacity utilization rate for the Turkish manufacturing industry increased by 0.3 percentage points to reach 75.2% in March, as indicated by a survey conducted by the Turkish Central Bank on Tuesday.
According to Anadolu Agency, data revealed that the highest utilization rate for the month was recorded at 74.8% in the intermediate goods sector, while the lowest rate stood at 72.1% in durable consumer goods.
The survey further detailed that the highest capacity utilization among different sectors was in the manufacture of paper products, which saw an 84% rate, whereas the leather products sector experienced the lowest utilization at 61.2%.
These capacity utilization rate figures were derived from responses to a business tendency survey targeting local units within the manufacturing industry.
The Turkish Central Bank noted that this month, 1,738 companies participated in the survey. It also emphasized that the data does not represent the bank's views or predictions.
