Trump Threatens Military Action Over Iran Nuclear Site Surveillance

Washington: The US has the site of Iran's nuclear materials "very well surveilled," President Donald Trump stated in remarks released Sunday, warning of potential military action against anyone attempting to access it. In an interview with journalist Sharyl Attkisson conducted earlier this week, Trump said US forces would eventually acquire the materials.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump mentioned, "We'll get that at some point. Whenever we want. We have it surveilled." Referring to the site and US surveillance capabilities, Trump highlighted the Space Force's role, stating that if someone approached the site, US forces could identify them. "If somebody walked in, they can tell you his name, his address, the number of his badge. No, we have that very well surveilled," he elaborated. He further emphasized that any approach to the site would be met with military action, saying, "If anybody got near the place, we will know about it and we'll blow them up."

Trump claimed the ongoing US-Israeli conflict with Iran, which began on February 28, had severely impacted Iran's capabilities, estimating that reconstruction would require two decades. He argued that while Iran had been weakened, it was not entirely defeated, indicating that further military action could target the remaining 30% of sites.

"We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon because they're crazy. We cannot let them have access to nuclear," Trump stated. Meanwhile, Iran has sent its response to the latest US proposal for ending the conflict to Pakistani mediators. The war is currently paused, and efforts are being made to find a permanent resolution that ensures safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and prevents the resumption of hostilities.
