Turkish Stock Market Opens Lower Midweek with BIST 100 Index Decline.

Ankara: The Turkish benchmark stock index, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100, commenced trading on Wednesday at 9,196.02 points, marking a decline of 0.33% or 30.84 points from its previous close. According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index had dropped by 0.55% the day before, closing at 9,226.86 points with a transaction volume totaling 85 billion liras, equivalent to $2.46 billion. The exchange rates for the US dollar, euro, and British pound against the Turkish lira were recorded at 34.3847, 36.4946, and 43.8174, respectively, as of 9.58 a.m. (0658GMT). Additionally, the price of an ounce of gold was reported at $2,611.20, while the price of a barrel of Brent oil held steady at approximately $72.04.
