Ankara:Middle East: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces have redirected a commercial vessel in the Middle East, marking the 130th instance of such an action during the current US naval blockade against Iran.
According to Anadolu Agency, CENTCOM has been actively involved in this operation since it resumed on July 14. In addition to redirecting 130 commercial vessels, the US forces have disabled three ships that refused to comply with the blockade.
The statement from CENTCOM also revealed that over the past 12 weeks, American forces have destroyed 13 commercial vessels. These actions were taken against ships that were either violating the blockade or linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' extensive shadow network.
Adm. Brad Cooper, the CENTCOM commander, emphasized the military's commitment to the mission, stating that they will act swiftly against any vessels attempting to run the blockade. He highlighted the high level of training, professionalism, and lethality of the US forces involved in the operation.
