Yemeni Forces Target Houthi-Controlled Sanaa Airport Runway to Thwart Iranian Aircraft

Ankara: Yemeni forces struck a runway at Houthi-controlled Sanaa International Airport to prevent an Iranian aircraft from landing, Yemen's Defense Ministry said Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, a ministry statement carried by the official news agency Saba announced that the Houthis had prevented Yemeni national aviation from landing at Sanaa airport while allowing the Iranian plane to land, which was described as a violation of Yemeni territory.

The statement further indicated that as a result of these actions, the airport runway was targeted by Yemeni forces. Prior to the strike, the ministry had issued a call for the evacuation of Sanaa airport and warned civilians to stay clear of the area.
