Yemen’s Houthis Launch Missile and Drone Assault on Saudi Naval Vessels and Weapons Depot

Sanaa: Yemen's Ansar Allah group, known as the Houthis, claimed Monday that its forces had targeted several Saudi naval vessels, along with a weapons depot, in a wide-ranging missile and drone barrage. In a statement posted on Telegram, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree detailed that a Saudi amphibious transport ship and several accompanying naval vessels had been struck in an aerial attack involving 'a number of' ballistic missiles.

According to Anadolu Agency, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree described the missile strike as 'precise,' stating that several of the targeted ships had sunk, while others had caught fire due to the attack. Houthi forces also reportedly targeted a Saudi weapons depot in the Sahn al-Jin camp, located in Yemen's central-eastern Marib province, with multiple drones.

The claims of the attack had not yet been confirmed by Saudi authorities. However, the independent news website Al-Masdar Online later reported an additional incident, stating that the Houthi militia targeted a civilian vessel owned by a Yemeni contractor with four consecutive missiles at Al-Ardi Port in the Bab al-Mandab area on Monday morning.

The website, citing unnamed sources, identified the vessel as Amir Khan, owned by Yemeni contractor Bilal al-Shumairi. The contractor reportedly purchased the vessel from an Indian trader in Indonesia for use in his maritime and commercial activities.
