Gaza City: The Israeli army has continued its offensive in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least eight Palestinians, as strikes targeted homes and tents throughout the region on Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, medical sources confirmed that an Israeli strike in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis led to the deaths of a Palestinian man and his wife.

Further reports from the official Palestinian news agency Wafa detailed that an Israeli warplane targeted a residence belonging to the Baraka family in Khan Younis, killing five individuals and injuring others. Additionally, another Palestinian succumbed to injuries sustained from a previous Israeli strike in Deir al-Balah city.

The Israeli military actions have included the demolition of several homes in Gaza City's Al-Tuffah neighborhood, along with artillery shelling of the city's eastern areas, including Zeitoun and Shejaiya neighborhoods. The escalated military operation resumed on March 18, resulting in over 1,800 Palestinian deaths and effectively ending a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January 19.

Since October 2023, the ongoing conflict has claimed the lives of more than 51,200 Palestinians, predominantly women and children. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its military actions in the enclave.
