Amman: Jordan announced on Monday its collaborative efforts with Trkiye, Syria, Arab states, and the international community to terminate the Israeli assault on Syrian territory. "Our position with Trkiye and Syria is united in supporting Syria's security, stability, and sovereignty, and in working together to confront all challenges," stated Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi during a joint press conference alongside his Turkish and Syrian counterparts, Hakan Fidan and Asaad al-Shaibani, following a trilateral meeting in Ankara.

According to Anadolu Agency, Safadi emphasized that Jordan is actively coordinating with Syria, Trkiye, fellow Arab nations, and the international community to halt Israeli aggression against Syria. He further assured that Jordan will exert all efforts to ensure the Syrian people lead a safe and dignified life after enduring prolonged suffering.

The discussions with Turkish and Syrian officials also included practical measures to assist Damascus in activating institutions and fostering economic relations. Furthermore, the dialogue addressed strategies to combat Daesh/ISIS and all forms of terrorism, which Safadi identified as a collective threat.

Safadi reiterated Jordan's commitment to securing a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ending the ongoing Israeli onslaught. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of nearly 52,900 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023, predominantly affecting women and children.

In related developments, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
