Bonn: The 62nd session of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB62) under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) began on Monday in Bonn, Germany. The two-week meeting, hosted at the World Conference Center until June 26, convenes government delegates, scientists, and civil society representatives to advance technical negotiations ahead of COP30 in Brazil.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meetings aim to accelerate progress on key issues and prepare decisions for adoption at the upcoming thirtieth Conference of the Parties (COP30), also known as the UN Climate Change Conference, in November 2025. Key issues on the agenda include the Global Goal on Adaptation, climate finance for developing countries, just transition pathways, transparency frameworks, and technology transfer.

Delegates are expected to work on draft decisions that will feed into formal outcomes at COP30 in Belem in November. Approximately 5,000 participants from nearly 200 countries are attending the conference, highlighting the global commitment to addressing climate change challenges and the importance of collaborative efforts in shaping effective climate policies.
