Trkiye’s Communications Director Condemns Israeli Ministers’ Raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem: Trkiye's Communications Director Burhanettin Duran on Sunday condemned "in the strongest terms" a raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli ministers, accompanied by settler groups and under the protection of Israeli police. Duran's statement emphasized the severity of the incident, describing it as a "vile provocation" and an attempt to occupy the sacred site.

According to Anadolu Agency, Duran reiterated the position of Trkiye's President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has stated that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a "red line" for Trkiye. He further highlighted that Jerusalem is a shared land for all Abrahamic faiths, with Al-Aqsa Mosque being both a spiritual center for Muslims and a shared heritage of humanity.

Duran asserted that Ankara will consistently defend the sanctity of Al-Aqsa, as it symbolizes "our common heritage and collective memory." He reaffirmed Trkiye's commitment to supporting Palestinian brothers and sisters amidst these tensions.
