Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 11,134.73 points, marking an increase of 1.58% from the previous day's close. After opening the day at 10,961.99, the BIST 100 index rose by 172.71 points from its close on Tuesday. The index's lowest point during the day was 10,933.63, while it reached a daily high of 11,157.25.
According to Anadolu Agency, throughout the day, 72 indexes saw gains in value, whereas 23 ended with losses. The daily transaction volume hit 135.3 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3.3 billion, while the overall value of the index was 10.34 trillion liras, approximately $253.38 billion. The USD/TRY exchange rate was recorded at 40.9280 as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT), with the euro/lira exchange rate at 47.7660, and the British pound trading at 55.1635.
The price of an ounce of gold was $3,342.65, and the barrel price of Brent oil was $66.10.
