Huawei Unveils HarmonyOS 6 with Enhanced Security and Connectivity

Beijing: Chinese tech firm Huawei launched its next-generation operating system, HarmonyOS 6, on Wednesday, with upgrades in performance, intelligence, cross-device connectivity, and enhanced security.

According to Anadolu Agency, the company announced that the new system will be available immediately for more than 90 devices, promising a seamless and convenient interactive user experience. The launch is a significant step for China's domestic operating systems, with deep artificial intelligence integration and improved cross-ecosystem connectivity offering smarter and safer experiences, as noted by Wang Peng, an associate researcher at the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences.

Huawei stated that HarmonyOS 6 provides users with improved intelligent security features, including a new AI-powered fraud prevention system. This feature is designed to safeguard users and their families against potential fraud risks, emphasizing family fraud protection.

Additionally, HarmonyOS 6 introduces seamless compatibility between iPhone, iPad, and Mac, allowing users to transfer files effortlessly between Huawei and Apple devices. The new multi-device connectivity feature aims to bridge the gap between iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. HarmonyOS, being an open-source operating system, is built for a wide range of devices and use cases. As of Wednesday, HarmonyOS 5 has been installed on 23 million devices.
