Gaza city: Six Palestinians, including a woman, were killed and five others injured on Friday in Israeli artillery shelling in Gaza City, marking another breach of the ongoing ceasefire agreement, according to medical sources.

According to Anadolu Agency, the victims' bodies were transported to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in central Gaza following the Israeli forces' attack on a school-turned shelter in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood of eastern Gaza City. Witnesses reported that an Israeli tank advanced into the neighborhood and fired shells at the shelter, resulting in the casualties.

The witnesses further stated that Israeli forces obstructed ambulance and civil defense crews from accessing the site for over two hours. The attack took place during a wedding celebration being held inside the shelter.

The Al-Tuffah neighborhood is one of the areas from which the Israeli army had withdrawn under the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect in the Gaza Strip since October 10. Palestinians have accused Israel of frequently violating the ceasefire deal, which ended a two-year conflict that claimed nearly 70,700 lives, mostly women and children, and injured over 171,000 people since October 2023.

According to the Health Ministry, Israeli attacks have resulted in at least 395 Palestinian deaths and 1,088 injuries since the ceasefire was initiated.
