Odesa: Ukraine on Monday reported a fire outbreak at the port of Pivdennyi, located in the southwestern Odesa region, following an overnight attack by Russia. This assault also resulted in damage to the local energy infrastructure.

According to Anadolu Agency, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba disclosed on Telegram that the fire was ignited after approximately 30 containers filled with flour and vegetable oil caught fire. Kuleba noted that port workers and relevant services are actively addressing the situation, with efforts to mitigate the aftermath currently underway.

Kuleba further detailed that the attack left over 120,000 residents in the Odesa region without electricity due to the inflicted damage on the energy infrastructure. Restoration activities are also being conducted in the northwestern Zhytomyr region, where damage to railway infrastructure has been recorded.

In a separate statement, Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that energy infrastructure in both the city of Odesa and the broader region caught fire. Additionally, warehouses containing fertilizer and agricultural machinery sustained damage.

Ukraine's Air Force announced on Telegram that its air defenses had successfully intercepted 58 out of 86 drones launched by Russia overnight. Russian authorities have yet to comment on these claims or the attack.

On Saturday, Ukrainian officials stated that eight individuals were killed and 27 others injured in a separate Russian missile attack on Pivdennyi Port. This port is situated approximately 27 kilometers northeast of Odesa. The preceding day, authorities also reported damage to a bridge near the village of Mayaky, close to Ukraine's border with Moldova.
