Karak: Five policemen and eight terrorists were killed in clashes in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, officials reported. The incident occurred when a vehicle carrying the policemen was attacked in the Karak district.
According to Anadolu Agency, Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the deaths of the policemen in a statement. Naqvi condemned the attack, describing it as a barbaric act by brutal elements. He assured that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not be in vain and pledged that the state would respond with full force.
The local Dawn newspaper, citing district police spokesman Shaukat Khan, reported that eight terrorists were killed during a search operation launched following the attack. A significant number of security personnel have been deployed in the area to continue the search for other terrorists.
