Explosions Rock Tehran as Air Defense Systems Engage

Tehran: Explosions were heard Friday in the Iranian capital Tehran, with air defense systems activated in response, the local news outlet Jamaran reported. The sudden activation of defense systems has caused widespread concern among residents, although specific details regarding which parts of the city were affected or the source of the blasts remain undisclosed.

According to Anadolu Agency, the context of these explosions is linked to ongoing US-Israeli military operations against Iran, which began on February 28. This conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with around 1,300 people reportedly killed, including the then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The geopolitical tensions have seen Iran retaliating with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as neighboring countries such as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations that host US military personnel and assets.

The situation remains tense, with regional stability hanging in the balance as these hostilities continue to escalate.
