Washington: The American military has experienced significant aircraft damages and losses during the current US-Israeli conflict with Iran. This includes fighter jets, drones, refueling tankers, and helicopters, with incidents occurring across the region due to combat losses, accidents, and strikes, as reported by US authorities and media sources.
According to Anadolu Agency, an F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down by Iranian air defenses over Iran on Friday. Fortunately, both crew members were able to eject safely and were subsequently recovered in separate rescue operations. On the same day, an A-10 attack aircraft was also lost during operations over Iran, as reported by NBC News, citing US officials.
NBC News also reported that two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters were hit during rescue efforts related to the F-15E incident. During the rescue mission inside Iran, ABC News stated that two MC-130J Commando II aircraft became stuck at a makeshift landing site. To prevent capture, these aircraft were destroyed by US forces after all personnel were evacuated. Additionally, four MH-6 Little Bird helicopters were destroyed at the same location.
The downing of the F-15E and the subsequent rescue operation represent the most significant cluster of US aircraft losses reported during the ongoing conflict.
