Paris: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday declared that the Strait of Hormuz will be entirely reopened by Friday and will remain open to shipping on a permanent toll-free basis. This announcement was made during his meeting with the United Arab Emirates' President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in France.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump emphasized the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz and the positive economic impacts anticipated from this decision. "We're going to have it fully open by Friday," he asserted, highlighting the movement of ships, the stabilization of oil prices, and the upward trajectory of the stock market as indicators of the decision's immediate benefits. Most crucially, Trump reiterated that Iran would not possess a nuclear weapon.

Trump further elaborated that the waterway would remain open beyond the initial 60 days without any toll fees. He promised to share the peace deal document reached with Iran, offering transparency by planning a press conference to read the document verbatim to ensure accurate media coverage.

The US president also expressed his intention to present the Iran deal to Congress for review, inviting legislative scrutiny. He remarked, "I like the idea . Send it to Congress, please," suggesting confidence in the deal's acceptance. However, he provocatively warned that if the deal is not approved, the alternative would be allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon, predicting a strong reaction from Democrats.

Additionally, Trump mentioned the complexity of removing Iran's enriched uranium, describing it as a "very tough excavation," and acknowledging that only the US and "probably China" have the capability to undertake such a task.
