Washington: The US has announced a $15 million reward for information that could lead to the arrests or convictions of key leaders of the notorious El Salvadoran gang MS-13, as outlined in a statement from the US State Department.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs has raised its reward offer to up to $10 million for details leading to the apprehension or conviction of Yulan Adonay Archaga Carias, also known as 'Porky.' Additionally, there is a $5 million reward for information concerning Vctor Eduardo Morales Zelaya, known as 'Cuervo.' Both individuals are recognized as senior leaders within Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), a group declared a 'Foreign Terrorist Organization' by the Trump administration the previous year.
Court documents reveal that Archaga Carias and Morales Zelaya hold the highest ranks within MS-13 in Honduras, with responsibilities that include orchestrating the gang's criminal activities such as drug trafficking, money laundering, murder, kidnappings, and other violent crimes. They are also accused of overseeing substantial cocaine imports into the US. As per the statement, both leaders remain at large.
Archaga Caras is prominently listed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and is also a high-priority target for the Drug Enforcement Agency and Homeland Security Investigations.
