Maritime traffic trends diverge sharply across two critical chokepoints: MarineTraffic announced via X that maritime traffic patterns moved in opposite directions across the two straits.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hormuz crossings fell by 28% to 77, with laden voyages declining from 45 to 33. Sanctioned and shadow fleet crossings dropped from 50 to 23 in the region. A total of 40 transits remained with their routes undetermined, while 32 used Iran's unilateral scheme.

In contrast, Bab el-Mandeb moved in the opposite direction as crossings recovered by 9.7% to 248. Laden traffic in the Red Sea strait rose from 103 to 109. Dark transits held near 23, and traffic separation scheme adherence remained around 91%.

The data pointed to growing pressure on Gulf shipping, while Red Sea traffic continued to show greater operational resilience.
