Kohat:The UN Security Council has condemned a suicide bombing at a mosque in northwestern Pakistan that resulted in at least 24 deaths and numerous injuries.

According to Anadolu Agency, the attack occurred on September 18 in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, killing seven civilians and 17 law enforcement personnel, while injuring at least 88 others. An armed group affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the bombing.

The Security Council members emphasized the importance of holding accountable those responsible for the attack, including perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors. They urged all countries to actively cooperate with the Pakistani government in accordance with international law and relevant council resolutions.

The council also extended condolences to the victims' families and the people of Pakistan, reiterating that terrorism is a significant threat to international peace and security. They stressed that such acts are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of the motivation behind them.
