Ankara:Trkiye's intelligence chief, Ibrahim Kalin, met with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani in Ankara to discuss various bilateral and regional issues.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting focused on Trkiye-Syria relations and areas of cooperation, as well as relations with neighboring countries and regional stability.

The two officials assessed the status of the integration process following the dissolution of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and emphasized maintaining coordination in the fight against terrorist groups, including ISIS.

They also addressed ongoing Israeli attacks in southern Syria and discussed the implications of lifting US sanctions on Syria, particularly how it might enhance the country's defense capabilities.
