Saudi Capital Airport Attack Leaves 12 Dead and Over 300 Injured

Riyadh:Twelve people were killed and 309 were injured in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, as reported by the civil aviation authority.

According to Anadolu Agency, the victims included four Saudis and two Bangladeshi nationals, along with one individual each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan. The injured are being treated in hospitals, with some in critical condition, and property damage has been reported, though assessments are ongoing.

Airport operations were temporarily halted following the attack as officials evaluated the damage and ensured the safety of the facilities. The disruption led to flight cancellations, with passengers being advised to confirm their flight status with airlines before traveling to the airport. Kuwait Airways canceled its Saturday flights to and from Riyadh due to the closure.

This incident occurs amid escalating tensions, following a series of recent Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi airports and facilities.
