Riyadh:The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has pledged a "firm" response following an attack on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport that resulted in 12 deaths and injuries to 309 others.
According to Anadolu Agency, coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki attributed the attack to Yemen's Houthis, stating that it targeted a passenger terminal and affected both travelers and airport staff. Al-Maliki described the incident as a war crime under international humanitarian law and stated that the coalition's response would adhere to international legal standards.
The Saudi civil aviation authority reported that the deceased included four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshis, and individuals from the US, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan. Of the injured, some are in critical condition and are receiving medical treatment.
The attack led to temporary suspension of airport operations on Saturday while officials assessed damage and ensured the safety of the facilities. This incident follows a series of Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi airports and other sites.
