Bandar Abbas:Iran's army has announced that its air defense forces shot down a US Lucas-type drone over the southern port city of Bandar Abbas. The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday that the drone was destroyed by the Air Defense Force's systems, part of the country's integrated air defense network.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the incident follows comments from US President Donald Trump, who mentioned on Saturday that the United States might either strike Iran by Sunday or reach a significant agreement with Tehran. These developments come amid ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran, which escalated following US-Israeli strikes on Iran in late February.

The conflict that began with these strikes has led to a broader regional confrontation, which remains unresolved despite a ceasefire and an agreement aimed at finalizing a peace deal.
