Israeli Soldiers Injured in Southern Lebanon Anti-Tank Missile Attack

Tel aviv: An anti-tank missile struck Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon, wounding two soldiers, the Israeli army said on Wednesday. In a statement, the army reported that two soldiers from the 401st Brigade were moderately injured in the attack.

According to Anadolu Agency, the military did not specify the exact location of the attack that wounded the two soldiers. The situation in Lebanon escalated earlier in the week after Hezbollah targeted a military site in northern Israel with rockets and drones. This was in response to ongoing Israeli airstrikes and the reported killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in ongoing US-Israeli attacks on Iran.

The Israeli army responded with a series of airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of at least 40 people and injuries to nearly 250 others. Additionally, the military initiated a ground incursion into southern Lebanon. Strict censorship is imposed by Israel on reporting casualties from missiles launched by Iran and Hezbollah or intercepted by Israeli defenses, and the distribution of related footage is prohibited.

The conflict has seen significant casualties, with Israel reportedly killing over 4,000 people and wounding approximately 17,000 others during its assault on Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and expanded into a full-scale war by September 2024.
