Bishkek: Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has expressed his support and solidarity with Oman's leadership and citizens amid the escalating tensions in the Middle East. This follows Iran's retaliatory actions against Gulf states in response to US-Israeli joint attacks, which resulted in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and 866 others, including over 150 elementary school girls.
According to Anadolu Agency, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev conveyed President Japarov's messages of solidarity to his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, during a phone conversation. Kulubayev also expressed gratitude to Muscat for its assistance in repatriating Kyrgyz citizens from Persian Gulf countries.
Tehran's recent actions included drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and what it referred to as "US interests" in eight Arab countries, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, and Iraq. Some of these attacks led to casualties and damage to civilian property, which were condemned by the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry stated that the two diplomats discussed regional issues and their impact on stability and security. Both parties emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts through diplomatic means to stabilize the situation as soon as possible.
