Gaza: The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has reported that more than 415,000 displaced individuals in Gaza are currently taking refuge in its school buildings. This development underscores the severe humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region. According to Anadolu Agency, UNRWA shared the testimony of Aisha, a Gazan woman seeking shelter in one of the schools. Aisha expressed her exhaustion, stating, "This place is meant for education, not for living." She further highlighted the immense suffering endured under dire health and economic conditions, struggling to secure basic necessities like food and drink without any external support or assistance. The UN agency emphasized that hundreds of thousands more are attempting to survive in even more challenging conditions in makeshift shelters. The crisis in Gaza stems from a conflict initiated by Israel following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas in October of the previous year. The conflict has resulted in nearly 44,400 deaths, pr edominantly women and children, and has left over 105,000 individuals injured. The ongoing situation, now in its second year, has drawn significant international condemnation, with officials and institutions criticizing the attacks and the blockade of aid as a deliberate attempt to obliterate a population. In a significant development, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants on November 21 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice due to its actions in the region.
