Trkiye to Bolster Support for Syria Against Netanyahu’s ‘Destabilizing Activities’

Ankara: Trkiye will continue to stand with Syria and other regional states that pursue peaceful policies in countering the "destabilizing activities" of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran said on Thursday. Responding to Anadolu's questions on Netanyahu's remarks targeting Trkiye, Duran said Netanyahu's threats and falsehoods directed at Trkiye and Syria reflected "his growing international isolation, political fears, and delusions."

According to Anadolu Agency, Duran stated that attempts to mislead the international community by creating "imaginary threats and enemies" were no longer effective because the international community had reached a consensus on the nature of Israel's policies. Duran noted the increasing reactions from the US, the UK, and the wider international community to Israel's policies, suggesting that Netanyahu's rhetoric was influenced by upcoming elections and domestic political concerns.

"He sees hostility toward Trkiye as a political lifeline. Moreover, in competition with other radical parties, he is fueling hostility toward Trkiye and other countries in the region," Duran explained. He added that Netanyahu was also pursuing foreign policy objectives through such rhetoric.

Duran emphasized that Netanyahu and his allies were attempting to divert attention from their own actions by accusing regional countries, particularly Trkiye. "His attempt to blame Trkiye after attacking Syria is the clearest example of this," he remarked. He argued that the problem was not a lack of understanding of Israel's policies, but rather an increasing global rejection of those policies.

Asked about the potential expansion of Israel's confrontation toward Trkiye, Duran stated that the international community and regional countries were united against Netanyahu's "occupation mentality" and plans to ignite regional conflict. "The entire region is coming together against a strategic destabilizing actor. Especially over the past three years, the whole region has witnessed the destruction and war caused by an aggressive neighbor," he said.

Duran criticized the current Israeli government for abandoning diplomacy and dialogue, asserting that Israel equated security with continuous aggression rather than stability. He highlighted that Trkiye's strength and influence were viewed as threats by Israel because Trkiye opposed the damage Israel caused to regional security and stability.

He also commented on criticism within Israel of Netanyahu's rhetoric, stating that Trkiye remained committed to promoting peace and reconciliation. Duran noted that Israeli opposition figures had frequently described Netanyahu's anti-Trkiye rhetoric as "irresponsible, extreme, and foolish," and that it had raised concerns within Israeli society.

Duran further described Trkiye as a NATO ally with significant regional and global influence, advocating for a two-state solution and criticizing Israeli government actions such as threats to neighboring countries and unauthorized settlements. "As Trkiye, we will continue to counter the destabilizing activities of genocidal Netanyahu and stand by all countries in our region, especially Syria, that pursue peaceful policies," he asserted.

Duran concluded by emphasizing Trkiye's experience and commitment to peace, both regionally and globally, positioning Trkiye as a nation respected for its approach to prioritizing peace and stability. "The prudent and peaceful foreign policy of Trkiye will thwart the bloody schemes of discredited figures like Netanyahu," he said, adding that Trkiye would not allow anyone to disturb the peace of the nation and its friends.
