Washington: The US has raised the travel risk level for Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to Level 3, urging travelers to reconsider visiting these nations. This decision comes as part of an updated travel advisory issued by the US State Department.
According to Anadolu Agency, the advisory also placed Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, and Qatar at the same risk level. However, Egypt remains at Level 2, with a recommendation for travelers to "exercise increased caution." In a related development, the US Embassy in Bahrain has announced the suspension of all routine consular services until further notice and has advised US citizens to leave the country immediately if it is safe to do so.
These developments occur amidst ongoing tensions between the US and Israel against Iran. Recent military actions have resulted in nearly 800 casualties, including high-profile figures such as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top military officials. In retaliation, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf nations where US assets are located, leading to disruptions in some energy supply routes.
