Israel Launches ‘Wide-Scale’ Wave of Airstrikes on Iran’s Capital

Tehran: The Israeli army announced on Tuesday that it has initiated a 'wide-scale' wave of airstrikes targeting Tehran, the capital of Iran. A military statement specified that the airstrikes were aimed at regime infrastructure across the city.

According to Anadolu Agency, no specific information was disclosed regarding the precise targets hit or any potential casualties resulting from the airstrikes. The escalation in military action occurred shortly after Israeli media reported a missile attack from Iran. This was in response to Israel's claims of having killed a prominent Iranian security official, Ali Larijani, in an overnight airstrike.

Since February 28, Israel and the United States have conducted a joint offensive against Iran, which has resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,300 individuals, including the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes against Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host U.S. military assets. These retaliatory strikes have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
