Ballistic Missile Debris Causes Damage in Riyadh

Riyadh:Debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell in the Saudi capital, causing damage to property.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Saudi Civil Defense reported that the missile was intercepted and destroyed, but debris fell and caused property damage. The missile was launched by Yemen's Houthi group, with the debris impacting a kindergarten and a medical clinic complex.

This incident is part of a broader escalation of Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi infrastructure, including airports and military sites.

Meanwhile, Yemeni government forces have initiated Operation 'Dawn of Yemen' to regain territories held by the Houthis and restore state institutions. The conflict in Yemen, which began when the Houthis captured the capital Sanaa in 2014, saw renewed fighting in July after a period of calm following a truce in 2022.
