Al-Mukalla:Warplanes conducted airstrikes on Thursday against Houthi positions across several Yemeni provinces. Simultaneously, three explosions were reported in the government-held city of Al-Mukalla in Hadramout province.
According to Anadolu Agency, Yemeni media and local sources confirmed that an airstrike hit Houthi militia positions at Al-Hudaydah airport, and another targeted the group's communications network at Jabal Bard in Kusmah district of Rima province. However, details on casualties or further information on the strikes were not provided.
Yemen's state-run Saba TV reported the three explosions heard in Al-Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout province. The cause and nature of these explosions remain unclear.
Separately, the 2 December news agency reported that airstrikes targeted a Houthi military camp in Yarim district of Ibb province. Local sources indicated that the camp housed a platform for launching ballistic missiles and had been used recently to launch missiles at Aden International Airport and other sites along the western coast of Yemen.
Hadramout, Yemen's largest province by area, is noted for its oil resources and contains several crucial ports and airports. The ongoing conflict in Yemen has persisted since the Houthis seized control of Sanaa and other provinces in September 2014, leading to a Saudi-led coalition intervention in March 2015 to support the internationally recognized government.
